luminescent hope appears through the cracks in the locked door

but the shadows cast by apprehension seem brighter

a blinding ambush of uncertainty

a forecast of the worst to come

too many have come

too many have left

too many have tried

too many have failed

always expect catastrophe

until the glow pervades the room

and the shadows dispel
