you collapsed from the fumes that were hanging in the air
and perhaps it’s your fault since you only managed to stare
you watched them block the sun
you felt them surround
and you were the last one
inside a ghost town
you lost count
and blacked out
you woke up
and fell down
the last time you were here, it was spring
we kissed in a gentle rain
the next time you’re here, won’t you bring
relief from my manic brain
it’s hard to comment when i’m at a loss of words
