have faith

a refusal of expectation

an exercise in caution

they’ll be here soon, asking about you

I don’t know what to tell them

fragile hope

pierced by shards of worry

bleeding out reminders that pool on the stained tile

my distorted reflection staring back with glazed eyes

that faith I put in you?

I sold it along with the rest of me
