step outside

time trickled by, and the walls began to melt

you awoke to unfamiliar reminders of the world outside

a whispering breeze, a singing bird, a falling tree

how long have you been hiding this time?

the safety of your suspended animation faded as snowflakes appeared

the winter ahead seemed daunting to face alone

take off your armor and follow the smoke signals

the hearth is waiting
